Pets at the Espana
Generally, pets are welcome and many owners enjoy living with their pets at the Espana. All pet owners at the Espana are considered fully responsible for their pets.
All pets are required to be registered with the Espana Concierge. Please see the Pet Registration Form found under 'Forms'. Submit the completed form to the Concierge.
Owners must be respectful of the rules regarding their pet's behaviour and care:
The following Strata Corporation Bylaw 2.3.1 (a), (c), 2.3.5 and 2.3.7 is subject to a potential fine of up to $800.00:
2.3 Use of Property
2.3.1 An owner, tenant, occupant or visitor must not use a strata lot, the common property, limited common property, or common assets in a way that:
(a) causes a nuisance or hazard to another person, including, but not limited to by way of noise, light, vibration and/or smell;
(c) unreasonably interferes with the rights of other persons to use and enjoy the common property, common assets or another strata lot;
2.3.5 An owner, tenant, occupant or visitor must ensure that all animals are leashed or otherwise secured when on the common property or on land that is a common asset.
2.3.7 An owner of a pet shall not permit the pet to urinate or defecate on the common property, and if any pet does urinate or defecate on the common property or limited common property, the owner shall immediately and completely remove all of the pet’s waste and dispose of it in a waste container or by some other sanitary means.

- Pets are not allowed to urinate or defecate anywhere on Espana common property (courtyard, inside building, outside gardens surrounding buildings). Bylaw fines are in effect. Pets must be taken to a nearby park.
- Should there be an 'accident', always clean up after your pet.
- Be considerate of your neighbours in terms of pet noise and scents. Bylaw fines are in effect.
- Pets must be on leash when on Espana property (inside and outside).
- Be considerate of your neighbours in the Espana lobbies and elevators when taking your pet for an outing.
