Short Term Rental (Airbnb) Guidelines
Short-term rental accommodation is permitted on the strata lot at España and there are no bylaws against short-term rental accommodation on the Strata lot at this time. Strata By-law 21.2 describes the regulations governing the use of part or all of a strata lot for short-term accommodation purposes.
If you are allowing short-term rental accommodation on the Strata lot at España, please make sure you are courteous and considerate to your neighbours. Below are the steps we require and recommend for keeping everyone happy!

Mandatory:
- Review all City of Vancouver guidelines, comply with all requirements, and obtain license
- Fill out Espana Short Term Rental form with Espana Concierge
- Pay $200 short-term rental usage fee to Espana Concierge
- Must not use a third party key transfer service. The resident, or the emergency contact, must meet all of your guests.
- Must ensure booking is only made through visitor-verified sites and that the ID of the short-term occupant is verified through the booking platform.
- Must provide to each short-term occupant of their strata lot a copy of the bylaws and rules of the strata.
Highly Recommended:
- Remind guests upon arrival of the most common bylaw infractions and applicable fines
- Smoking on Balconies and Common Property, not stopping at parking gate, excessive noise violations
- Remind all guests there is zero-tolerance for partying. Fines will be levied and the Vancouver Police will be called.
- Provide manual to all guests with critical information including house rules, building rules, check-in information, garbage/recycling information, etc.
